North Byron Parklands is a world class Cultural Events Site. The idea behind the site came as a consequence of the primary festival site in Byron Bay, Belongil Fields, being proposed for re-zoning for residential purposes. Culture and the celebration has always been an important part of the social and economic fabric of the Northern Rivers. Accordingly, the establishment of a ecologically sustainable permanent Cultural Events Site has been an important land use in Byron Shire.
The application was processed and approved under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act. A PLANNERS NORTH partnership principal prepared the Environmental Assessment documentation for the Part 3A assessment and we continue to provide Town Planning advice to the venue as it approaches an important milestone- the seeking of permanency.
