Riverbend is a Manufactured Housing Village project in West Ballina aimed at persons over 55 years of age. The site was zoned residential, but had historically experienced difficulties in gaining development consent, mainly as a consequence of the highly reactive soil conditions in the locality not being conducive to conventional subdivision.
We proposed a Manufactured Housing Estate model. This development form adopts a single ownership approach to site management with occupants owning their own homes. This method allowed for the site settlement and infrastructure provision questions to be looked at in an innovative way.
