Interim Occupation Certificate ‘bites the dust’

On By pn in Improve Your Planning IQ

The term ‘interim’ Occupation Certificate (OC) will be abolished under the new regime proposed to commence on 1 December 2019.

Despite this, it will still be possible to obtain an OC for part of a new building. There is a new expression introduced- ‘Partial Occupation Certificate’.  This is an OC that is issued for the first completed stage of a partially completed building.  The Partial Occupation Certificate will carry a condition that an OC must be obtained for the whole of the building within 5 years after the Partial Occupation Certificate is issued.
